MAG

So the game is actually out now, but the beta had me totally lose interest on the game, it just was not what I expected.

Teamwork didn't work smoothly, and sometimes I felt like everyone was just wandering around aimlessly.

The graphics were, well, shit o.O

I appreciate the try, but this is not the game that was supposed to take console FPS to a new level.


God I'm gonna cry if microsoft makes their own version with the same idea and actually succeed.

tbh i think they should have done a joint game with zipper and a lot of other developers
i have pre ordered MAG from ages ago and i do quite like it but yeah the graphics and feeling of the game needs to be changed
should be a little more like killzone or CoD when the weapons feel weighty and the animations are better
the main problem for zipper was the scale, i.e. amount of players and size of the maps

I will rent it for the weekend, I will see if it will be a better experience than in the beta

after playing the beta i liked, but gradually learn't to hate and see what would happen.

now looking forward to dust 514, which is the same idea, but looks more sexy and is in space

which makes things at least 11 times more awesome

the thing you'll find in MAG is that everyone wants to be a leader. 1/5th of those will do a decent job, the other 4/5ths are only interested in

a) Extra that they can move to what they're doing at the time
b) The ability to spam mortar/airstrike

Rarely if ever is the UAV used constructively. Platoon leader's tend to be better and OIC's are almost non existent if they aren't in your squad giving you benefits.

IMO the HUD did well to show the data it did, but it does not show enough to help the supposed team structure that should exist such as what supports are active and when they appear, apart from the very quiet sometimes missed radio dude telling you something has recharged.

Also leadership posistions highly fought over, people will rage quit if they aren't leading. The system highly favours the no lifes which will play 24/7

I rent it for 2 days and gave it right back. It sucked. I expected a lot more and unless you have friends who play the game its quite BS. And there are way too few germans out in the game. I only saw 3 the whole time I was playing. And my motivation to play was done in a hour. The game needs a lot of patience, especially if you can't get through the Defense of SVER -.-

lol SVER's defenses were screwed in the beta, they were changed for the worse, it's the one team you need to have a communicating offense on otherwise you will be stuck on the first line of bunkers for the whole 20-30 mins

i've done a double take and am actually going to buy this now, my plan is that if it's crap then i can trade in for final fantasy in march.

from what people on my friend list say, it's been a highly epic experience, so maybe I can get into it again.

bought, loving it, a lot more like a community now it's more than just testers, although there are niggles, I'm enjoying it.
